Julia Lezhneva, the soprano with a sensational voice who is arousing much enthusiasm and admiration throughout the entire classical music world, makes her festival debut with one of the world’s leading early music ensembles, Il Giardino Armonico. Winning her first international competition at the age of 17 and making her first album at the age of 18, Lezhneva’s career has skyrocketed especially since her appearance at the 2010 Classical Brit Awards gala concert, on the invitation of Dame Kiri Te Kanawa. Bringing together musicians from some of Europe’s leading music institutions, all of them specialized in performing on period instruments, Il Giardino Armonico is considered a pioneer in its field. This concert features the vocal sensation everybody’s talking about with Il Giardino Armonico under Giovanni Antonini, whose accompaniments are infectiously stylish and match Lezhneva’s intense brilliance.
