Born in 2002 in Mersin, Idil Yunkuş started violin with her father Selahattin Yunkuş. She attended masterclasses of Cihat Aşkın, Sevil Ulucan, Hakan Şensoy, Anna Schnarch, Şenol Aydın, Shlomo minzt, Alexander Kagan and Mikhail Gotsdiner. She received the first prize in the 5th Gülden Turalı National Violin Competition, and the second prize in the International Young Musicians Competition held in Kemer in 2013. She performed C. A. de Beriot’s Ballet Scene with the Mersin State Opera and Ballet Orchestra under the baton of Aytuğ Ülgen and Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor with the Başkent Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Orhun Orhon and with the Mersin University Youth Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Murat Göktaş. She also performed T. Vitali’s Chaconne with the Karşıyaka Municipality Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Hakan Şensoy. Yunkuş is the concertmaster of the Doğuş Children’s Symphony Orchestra. After studying with Lili Tchumburidze at the Mersin University State Conservatory, she currently continues her studies with Çiğdem İyicil at the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Istanbul State Conservatory.
