Born in 1995 in Izmir, Alara Acar started her harp studies with İpek Mine Sonakın at the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Istanbul State Conservatory. She also attended masterclasses of Benoit Wery, Gunnhildur Einarsdottir, Sivan Magen, Mirjam Schröder and Anne Ricquebourg. She first went as an Erasmus student to the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt in Weimar, then she studied with Mirjam Schröder as a student of the school. She received the third prize in Giovani Musicisti competition in 2017, and played with the school orchestra André Caplet’s Conte Fantastique at Staatskapelle Halle.

In Turkey, she perfomed with M.S.G.S.Ü Philharmony under the direction of Erdem Çöloğlu and Turkish National Philharmony Orchestra under the direction of Cem Mansur; in Europe she played with the Weimar University Orchestra, Jenaer Philharmony, Loh-Orchester Sondershausen and Thüringer Symphoniker Saalfeld-Rudolstadt under the directions of Nicolas Pasquet and Marek Janowski. Alara Acar currently continues her study with Andreas Whrenfennig at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt-Weimar.
