Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra is the Orchestra in Residence of the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts.
The 43rd Istanbul Music Festival opens with the world premiere of the festival’s commission to Hasan Niyazi Tura, performed by the Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic under the baton of Sascha Goetzel. The teen-prodigy Can Çakmur, who has been garnering international awards in the last few years, will be at the piano for Shostakovich’s 2nd Piano Concerto. This opening concert will also reference the festival’s theme, Cultural Landscapes, with Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition.
