Henry Purcell’s semi-opera The Fairy Queen is a true masterpiece and one of the world’s leading early music ensembles New London Consort under Philip Pickett’s iconoclastic approach, star solo singers, brilliant circus artists, and a mesmeric staging by brilliant Mexican director Mauricio García Lozano join to convey all the fantasy and inextinguishable energy of Purcell’s magical score. Focusing on a uniquely wide and colourful repertoire of Renaissance and Baroque music, the New London Consort will be at the festival with one of their most colourful and musically sublime productions.
