A most sensitive and definitely sensational Chopin interpreter of our day, Yundi makes his Turkey debut! Winning the International Chopin Piano Competition in 2000 launched him on an international career, which was largely defined by this victory. Since then, he has been acclaimed as one of the best interpreters of the composer and he was honoured with a Gold Medal for Merit to Culture ‘Gloria Artis’ by the Polish nation in 2010. He has performed with some of the leading orchestras of the world, including the Mariinsky, Berlin Philharmonic, Vienna Philharmonic and the Philadelphia. He tours extensively around the globe from North America to Europe and Asia and is a most welcome guest at the prestigious musical circles and centres. You will stand in awe of Yundi’s brilliant technique and exquisite interpretation in this concert, which will present yet another occasion to witness the power of music in connecting people. Yundi’s performance at the festival will mark the 2012 China Cultural Year in Turkey, the most comprehensive activity so far to promote the Chinese culture and to enhance the relations between Turkey and China.
