Tekfen Philharmonic Orchestra is also known as The Voice of 3 Seas; a name that defines the geographical expansion of the orchestra’s formation, which comprises musicians from 23 countries, as well as professing its philosophy. It sets out to prove that differences can co-exist and they even reinforce peace, and that music in fact voices peace. Standing out for the quality of its recordings and its successful tours abroad, the symphonic ensemble has been performing under the baton of Saim Akçıl to enrich the cultural life of Turkey since its inception 20 years ago. The Tekfen Philharmonic performs the music written for traditional instruments of the geography it represents, alongside the warhorses of the classical repertoire as well as producing very special projects to fulfil its objectives. The orchestra offers the audience yet another fresh musical experience at this concert, which features Yurdal Tokcan, Ercan Irmak and Göksel Baktagir; virtuoso players of oud, ney and quanun, respectively.
