The Festival is proud to provide another exquisite work for the world’s musical heritage. Giya Kancheli, a true romantic who embroiders in his works all the elegant feelings and ideals of his homeland Georgia and who has a profound influence on the musical world, will premiere his eagerly anticipated symphonic work commissioned by the festival. This concert is dedicated to cellist Benyamin Sönmez who was scheduled to perform tonight before he passed away in late 2011.
