After hosting the greatest masters of classical music in June, the festival ends with a concert by the new “super star” of the world’s opera stages, the mezzo-soprano Elina Garanca and Borusan İstanbul Philharmonic Orchestra, the resident orchestra of the festival. Founded with an aim for contributing to the appreciation of classical polyphonic music by a broader audience in Turkey, Borusan İstanbul Philharmonic Orchestra will be directed by Karel Chichon, a conductor celebrated as a musical genius by critics. With the performance of Garanca who won the 2007 Echo Klassik “Singer of the Year” award with her exquisite voice, brilliant interpretations and stage presence, the last night of the festival will truly become a vocal feast.
Borusan İstanbul Philharmonic Orchestra is the resident orchestra of the İstanbul Foundation for Arts and Culture.
