The composer of the soundtrack for “All the Mornings of the World” which won 7 César awards including “Best Music” with its narration of the life of the French viol player and composer Sainte-Colombe (Gérard Depardieu), Jordi Savall has proved that early music is not a leisure pursuit for the few or the elite but on the contrary, an increasingly attractive subject for the young and large audience. Achieving an unprecedented success by selling more than a million copies of the CD album with the same title, Savall is recognized as one of the greatest performers of early music and one of the key names behind the current revival of the early music as a virtuoso and researcher. Savall will be accompanied by his ensemble Hespèrion XXI, the two-time nominee of the Grammy Award in 2001 and 2002 in this concert.
