One of the most celebrated and the greatest symphonic orchestras of the world, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra has collaborated with great musicians for 50 years under the direction of its renowned conductor Willem Mengelberg: with composers like Richard Strauss, Mahler, Debussy and Stravinsky as guest conductors, and with musicians like Bartok, Rachmaninov and Prokofiev performing their own works. The Festival presents the opportunity to enjoy the performance of the Gramophone Award winner, outstanding pianist Mitsuko Uchida in the first night of the two-concert series by Concertgebouw under the direction of Mariss Jansons, one of the most significant conductors of classical music. The walls of St. Irene will be echoing with the magnificence of this concert, an indisputable highlight of the Festival.
