This concert brings Julian Lloyd Webber, one of the most esteemed and inventive musicians of our age, together with Çellistanbul formed in 2004 by the four most successful cellists of the young generation. A prolific artist who has collaborated with artists like Lorin Maazel, Georg Solti and Sir Elton John, Julian Lloyd Webber’s Brit Award winner Elgar Concerto which he recorded with Yehudi Menuhin has been praised by the BBC Music magazine as “the best performance ever”. An ensemble with an extensive repertoire ranging from classical to modern, tango to jazz, Çellistanbul will be joining Julian Lloyd Webber, who has premiered over fifty contemporary works, in this concert to perform works covering all the eras of classical Western music in addition to selected works from popular music.
