The festival audience will recall Les Arts Florissants, one of the most esteemed period music ensembles of our day. Founded by the conductor William Christie in 1979, the ensemble’s repertoire mostly consists of unpublished works at the French National Library in Paris. Producing over sixty records and playing a major role in the high regard of 17th and 18th century French baroque in Europe, Les Arts Florissants will take the audience on a journey through the timbres of the past with their great conductor. Young and successful soloists will accompany the ensemble during the concert.
