Mercan Aldemir was born in 2004 in İzmir. In 2014, she was accepted to Sonat Sözer's flute class at Dokuz Eylül University State Conservatory.

She passed the auditions for Doğuş Child Symphony Orchestra in 2018. In January of 2022, she shared the first prize in the trio category of the “Flutissimo 2022” competition organised by the A Traverse La Flute Association held in Nice, France. In the same year, she won the AASSM 2022 “May 19th Youth Concert” auditions and performed live. She shared the first prize in the 15-17 age category in the “Mediterranean Sounds” competition held in Antalya. She was awarded the second prize in the 3rd Cahit Koparal International Flute Competition. As a result of this competition, she qualified to perform live with the Bursa Regional State Symphony Orchestra in the 2022/23 season.

Aldemir participated in the masterclasses of Gülşen Tatu, Bülent Evcil, Davide Formisano, Alexandre Tkaboca, Kersten McCall, Juergen Franz, Öncü Uçar, Sibel Pensel and Aslıhan And. In September 2022, she passed the auditions for AASSO and performed with the orchestra during the season. Aldemir has been studying flute with Jülide Gündüz since 2021.
