Born in Istanbul in 2003, Elif Duru Özçelik began her musical education in 2013 when she was accepted into the Anadolu University State Conservatory, where she studied in the flute class of Burçin Barut Dikicigiller. In 2017, she won second prize at the 2nd International Flute Competition in Varna, Bulgaria, and was accepted into the Doğuş Children’s Symphony Orchestra the same year.
In 2018, she was awarded first prize at the 8th International Flute Competition (L’association À Travers la Flûte) in Nice, France. The following year, she was accepted into the Richard Wagner Conservatory in Vienna.
In 2021, Elif Duru Özçelik enrolled at Bursa Uludağ University State Conservatory, where she continued her undergraduate studies in the flute class of Cem Önertürk. In 2023, she was accepted into the Turkish National Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, which enabled her to work with renowned musicians such as Eugen Bertel, Massimo Mercelli, Bülent Evcil, Ayla Uludere, Raffaele Travisani, Sibel Pensel, Henrik Wiese, and Andrea Lieberknecht. She performed in class recitals, chamber music concerts, and orchestral projects.
Now in her eleventh year of playing the flute, Özçelik is currently pursuing her undergraduate studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München in the class of Stephanie Hamburger.
