Harpist Bahar Zeynep Aşçı has been pursuing her musical education at the Istanbul University State Conservatory since childhood. With the harp at the centre of her musical journey, she began her studies in the conservatory’s part-time programme, later continuing through secondary and high school before advancing to professional-level training at university. During this period, she studied with Yonca Özkan Bilenoğlu, refining her skills in harp repertoire, technique, and musical interpretation.

Aşçı’s work has been recognised internationally: she was awarded first prize at the International Music and Stars Awards Competition, second prize at the International Ceren Necipoğlu Harp Competition, and received distinctions at both the Zagreb International Harp Competition and the Marcel Tournier International Harp Competition. Her first prize and special jury award at the Glowing Harp Competition further strengthened her connection with the international harp community at a young age.

As part of her orchestral and performance work, she has performed in major concert halls across Europe and Türkiye, including the Konzerthaus Berlin as part of the Young Euro Classic Festival, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Dvořák Hall of the Rudolfinum in Prague, and the Scuola Grande di San Rocco in Venice. In Türkiye, she has appeared at the Atatürk Cultural Centre (AKM) and İş Sanat in Istanbul, as well as CSO Ada Ankara. In 2025, she performed as a soloist with the Istanbul University State Conservatory Symphony Orchestra at the Türkan Saylan Cultural Centre and Caddebostan Cultural Centre in Istanbul. She continues to develop her practice through international masterclasses, working with leading harpists such as Marielle Nordmann, Eleanor Turner, Sioned Williams, Anne-Sophie Bertrand, and Katharina Teufel.

Bahar Zeynep Aşçı continues her studies at the Istanbul University State Conservatory while expanding her artistic practice through concerts, international projects, and new repertoire.
