The Festival Production Management Training

The Festival Production Management Training is a new format of The Festival Academy, an initiative of the European Festivals Association. It focuses especially on production management in terms of realising and implementing the mission of the festival and the artistic vision in practice: planning, implementation, organisation, coordination and follow-up. The training looks at the practical side of this process, with special attention given to working with artists. Participants meet and exchange with experienced production managers and artists, including set designers, light designers, conductors, choir leaders etc.

Each individual's training cycle consists of three modules:

• A three-day workshop with experienced speakers
• A hands-on placement at a host festival
• A two-day concluding session.

Module III in Istanbul

Module III of the Festival Production Management Training is a three-day concluding session which will take place in Istanbul from 7-9 November 2016 in collaboration with the Istanbul Music Festival. Participants will reflect and exchange on their experiences gained in Modules I and II under the guidance of experienced festival managers including Jerry Aerts (General Manager and Artistic Director deSingel International Art Campus), Hugo de Greef (General Coordinator The Festival Academy), Annet Lekkerkerker (Managing Director Holland Festival), Roy Luxford (Planning and Operations Director Edinburgh International Festival) and Yeşim Gürer Oymak (Director Istanbul Music Festival).

Open session with Turkish production managers

As part of the programme of Module III, The Festival Academy is delighted to invite Turkish production managers to an open session on Tuesday 8 November 2016 to present and discuss and exchange about their work, situations and festivals.
The session will start at 14:30 and will continue until 19:00. Should you be interested in participating, please send an email to indicating your name, position, festival and contact details.  We ask for a contribution of 30€ for those interested to participate.
