Costa Pilavachi joins the festival’s Advisory Committee

Istanbul Music Festival’s Advisory Committee will continue its endeavours with an international member starting from this year. Having taken up directorial positions in numerous institutions in the USA and Canada, Costa Pilavachi will be a member of the festival’s Advisory Committee for four years, supporting the festival by reinforcing the relationship between artists and orchestras, and the festival, and by developing joint projects with other festivals and concert venues.

Who is Costa Pilavachi?

Costa Pilavachi completed his higher education at Carleton University and York University (Schulich School of Business) before launching his career in the world of music as an artist manager in Canada. Since then, Costa Pilavachi has worked as a senior manager at prestigious art centres and the world’s biggest musical production companies; respectively at Toronto Arts Productions (Director of Music), Ottowa National Arts Centre (Director, Music Department), Boston Symphony Orchestra and Tanglewood Festival (Artistic Administrator), Philips Music Group (Vice-President, Artist and Repertoire), Philips Music Group (President), Decca Music Group (President), EMI Classics (President). Pilavachi is Senior Vice President at Universal Music Group International since 2010.
